Aaron in Oxford, England

Kenneth Aaron Horton, known as Aaron, (1986-2011) was from Lynchburg, Virginia and was the husband of Rachael Horton, son of Kenneth and Barbara Horton and the brother of Leah Horton, all of Lynchburg, VA. Aaron graduated from Liberty University in 2007 with a degree in History and earned a Masters degree in Ancient History and Classical Studies from the University of Wales Lampeter in 2011. He hoped to pursue a PhD in Ancient History and then return to Liberty University to join the faculty. Aaron was employed by Genworth Financial in Lynchburg, VA. He was known for his kindness, his sense of humor, his infectious smile, and his love for learning. He was devoted to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his wife, and his team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Aaron and his wife, Rachael of Lynchburg, perished in an apartment fire on April 8, 2011. Despite his short life, Aaron left a tremendous legacy which is being fulfilled in part by the Aaron Horton Memorial Scholarship for History Fund at Liberty University. Liberty is generously matching all donations to this fund, which was established to benefit Liberty University students seeking a masters degree in history. Though Aaron was unable to fulfill his plan to teach history at Liberty, this fund will ensure that he is able to help educate Liberty students who share his passion.

Please consider donating to the scholarship fund to help assure that Aaron’s legacy will live on.
